I've been sick. Like really sick. Like go to urgent care, specialists and more doctors trying to find out what is wrong with me. I've been covered in hives for over a month. Tired, grouchy, and not fun to be around. They come and go but mostly they come and stay. It's so frustrating to not feel good and not have an answer. It's even more frustrating to go to doctors who have no idea how to fix it so they give you medicine to "cover up" the systems.
My thyroid has been too high then too low and I thought maybe that was it. I looked at everything possible as a trigger: food, drinks, soaps, lotions, sun, I was going mad. Nothing was helping. I had an appoint for my Naturalpathic Doc today and thankfully she knew what was wrong. I love her. I've said this many times and I'll say it again, I love her. Love, love, love♥ She said it was a virus. She has had three patients with the same thing over the past six months. It's the same family of virus' as the shingles I had a few months ago. Great. So I may get them again in the future just like shingles. The bad news is that the hives last 6-8 weeks. The good news is that I've already had the hives for 4-6 weeks. It will be over soon. Just knowing what is wrong with me makes me feel better. I'm not crazy! Whew. Well, I'm a little crazy but normal is boring - wink.
My Dr. gave me a vitamin B-12 shot and a tincture to boost my immune system and help fight the virus off. I headed off to get more blood work to check a few more things and hopefully I will be good to go. The B-12 has already made me happier and given me a boost of energy. I may need to get these more often!
Here's the deal. Listen to your body. You are they only one who truly knows what is going on in there. If something isn't right find someone who can figure it out. It could be the medical route like when I had thyroid cancer and my arthritis or it could be the natural route for hormones, balance and overall health. I am a big believer in both. My health needs both the traditional medical and the natural medicines to feel my best. Thankfully I'm on the road to feeling my best......again.
*Update*
It's Sunday, I came home on Friday and went to bed. The B-12 shot gave me a little more energy and the tincture Dr. Jessie made is disgusting but seems to be helping. I put oils on my feet - DoTerra On Guard which helps fight off infections and Balance which helps balance everything out. I woke up on Saturday to NO HIVES! They came back a little later in the day but it was a welcome relief. I kept the oils on my feet and Sunday - NO HIVES! Hopefully my immune system is finally getting a handle on this and kicking those hives to the curb!

Out of the bloffice...
I have not had an ounce of energy or time for that matter to blog. Things are crazy around here:
For one..I'm to busy to even write this from anything but my phone! Then there's.....
1. Shadow a student day at the Jr. High (which I loved btw)
2. A funeral
3. Getting 437 things ready for our big craft day at church...there sure is a lot of hard work that goes on behind the scenes so all the ladies can have fun being crafty!
4. School projects -2 very time consuming ones.
5. Homework, voice lessons, piano lessons, carpool, gymnastics
6. Wood Badge, Scout outings and mutual (church youth group) for the hubs
7. Putting on a wedding reception with 2 days notice...which beats our 7 day notice wedding reception.
8. And that's just this week! The icing on the cake? Week 3 of being sick. I just can't shake this cold, cough, fever I've got. I may have to find time to got to urgent care tomorrow.
Ok I'm done whining. I know every Mom/wife/woman has 100 things on their plate at all times so its not fair for me to complain. Its just that sometimes it feels more overwhelming than others.
That reminds me...when I feel better I want to go see that new Sarah Jessica Parker movie "How Does She Do It". I'm sure it will make me feel better.

I'm Sick......
So that means my 52 Blessing project will be done when I feel better.
Along with a whole bunch of other posts I have half started.
Side note- I've gotten four spam comments in the past week.
I have deleted them but "anonymous" keeps re-posting them.
I've never had that happen before.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Little Bits of Randomness
I am now sick. I have been in bed for the past three days. This has been a month that I want to soon forget. I think it should be an earthly law that if your are a MOTHER you should be exempt from being sick. This should count for all kinds of diseases not just the flu or the common cold. Do you think if I got a petition going around with enough names on it I get get it passed as a law or something?
I am very grateful for my husband who has been taking care of me like I was a queen. I feel kind of spoiled and definitely loved. He's go great!
Abby and I have been watching the movie Aquamarine about five times a day. I have to say that this is a very cute movie and even after watching it so many times I still love it. We have even downloaded some of the songs from itunes and love those as well. Cassidy likes it too so that makes for a peaceful movie night.
The weather here has been perfect. This is why I live here. There isn't a beach in sight but the air is so perfect it feels like it just wraps it's self around you and makes you want to be outside. I am heading to the garden store tomorrow to jazz up the place. I can't wait to pick out some color for the front and back yards. Sorry for those of you still covered in snow. When you are having beautiful weather in July and we are at 122 you can remind me of this little post.
I'm looking out my office window at the sky. It's what we call sky-blue-pink around here. It's lovely. The girls are riding bikes and pulling kids on skateboards with a rope. I'm sure this isn't the safest thing to do but I pick my battles and that is not one of them. Abacus takes up most of my battling time these days, and reading and spelling and picking up clothes off the floor in the bathroom and brushing teeth and eating veggies and....well, you get the point.
I haven't been getting my camera out and I miss it. I guess with this being the sickest month in history I haven't had the energy. I got it out today and captured Abby blowing a bubble with her gum. She learned how the other day and she has been practicing ever since. This little girl amazes me, she has such a determined little personality. She can do anything her mind wants to. Sometimes I envy her. I wish I could bottle her determination and persistence. I would make a fortune.
I have to say that Tom's idea of putting Cassidy in charge of herself in the morning has been AWESOME!!! Before I would say at least 200 times "Hurry Up!" By the time she would leave for school we would both be so annoyed with each other it was awful. Now we just wake her up, make sure she opens her eyes and answers us and then let her be. She is responsible for getting ready, getting her books and bag and snack ready, eating breakfast and getting to the bus on time. If she needs help we are more than happy to help her but she has to ask. If she misses the bus then she has to go to bed at 7pm instead of 8pm. If she misses it again she has to go to bed at 6pm and the hour gets earlier with each miss. Guess what, she hasn't missed once! I don't say hurry up and we are both happy and in love with each other as she leaves. It has really made the mornings a happier place around here. I highly recommend this to everyone.
Today I was waiting for Cassidy at school to pick her up (she rides the bus in the morning because she's on the bus for all of 3 min. and if she were to ride home she would be on the bus for 25 min - no thank you!) and she took 30 min to come out. HELLO! I'm sick, I don't feel good and I don't want to be sitting for 30 min. waiting! The only reason she is still alive is because Abby had fallen asleep and I wanted her to have a little nap. I guess the Teacher was helping her so again couldn't be too mad at this. She did get a lecture about calling to let me know what she's doing. What would you do in this situation?
I guess that's all for now. I think my cough medicine with codeine is kicking in. So if towards the end there things didn't make sense now you know why. I'm off to find something to eat for the chickens while the mother hen gets back in her nest.

It was a close call...............

..............but I'm ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!
I was sooo sick! I had a kidney infection that started on Friday night. By Saturday afternoon, I was in bed with a fever, headache, body ache. The girls had Jane and Jill over for most of the day so they just played while I laid in my bed in misery. By Sunday night I was BAD!!!! At midnight I almost called 911, yes that's how bad it was. Did I mention Tom was out of town Sat- Tues? No I didn't mention it because I didn't want any stalkers to know I was alone! Anyway, I went to the Dr. on Monday and all I can say is, "THANK YOU ANTIBIOTICS!!" It took until Thursday for me to really start feeling like myself.
The good news, I lost 6 pounds! YIPEE!!!
The bad news, I missed all my favorite parties! Boo-Hoo, sniff, sniff! I had to pawn my kids off twice so they could go. I couldn't deny them the fun even though I was sick.
We did have our 3rd annual Halloween Party here because I can't have a 3rd Annual Halloween Party next year. That just doesn't work for me. Lucky for me my Halloween party is very low key and I didn't have to do much. We had Chili and corn bread and Frito's (can't have chili w/o the Frito's people). Hot dogs and soda and lots and lots of candy. We went trick-o-treating and watched two movies on the garage while we sat out on the driveway. Fun, Fun! Even Almighty is sooo funny!
A HUGE thank you to everyone for their calls and e-mails and service. I'm so thankful to have such wonderful friends and family. Tom thanks you too. He's so sad he couldn't be here to take care of me. Truthfully, I didn't tell him exactly how sick I was until he got home. Otherwise he would have had his trip ruined by worrying. So thank you, thank you! I'm back and I'll be posting pictures of Halloween today! YEA!

Thankful Sickly Sunday
I'm sick.
Really sick.
It's not fun.
I couldn't stay in my bed another moment and had to check some blogs and post. I'm sitting here wrapped in my Italian pashminie straight from Italy and shaking like a leaf. Thank you Monica, I am loving it!!!! Why can't I handle an illness when I can handle arthritis every day?
So on this sickly Sunday I thought I would post about being thankful to hopefully make me feel better.
I'm thankful for our home teachers who took the girls to church. Cassidy HAD to go because her class was getting a "great big candy bar today Mom!" Abby of course can't miss because she is in love with her Sunday school teachers. So thanks Chris and Lizzy! you're a lifesaver and the girls couldn't stop talking about London's mohawk!
I'm thankful for friends who brought in dinner. It was yummy and we loved it and truth be told I think I've only had a banana since yesterday. Thank you thank you!!!!
I'm thankful for my neighbor for scoring me some drugs (antibiotics people not real drugs) until I can get to the DR. You gotta love Mexico!!!!
I'm so thankful for my girls for taking care of me but mainly taking care of them selves. I couldn't ask for better daughters!
Lastly, I'm thankful for Tom, he is always so concerned about me and so thoughtful. I need to learn from him so I can be better when he gets sick.
Hopefully I can get better by tomorrow because the parties are starting people!!!!! If not, what am I going to do??????????
