Bali Birthday's for the Girls

My girls are 5 years and 5 days apart.  Both born in December. (me too) So every other year I do an easy breezy swimming party at Grandma's clubhouse in her community to save my sanity.  It's breathtaking over there and I try to take full advantage any chance I can get. Plus it's December in AZ and who doesn't like to swim in December when it's still in the 80's?

I love One Charming Party for her amazing birthday party ideas and free printables.  I took full advantage of the Bali Party and put my own spin on it along with her cute ideas.

Amberly with a sarong I made out of t-shirt material.

We did the girls parties on the same day but at different times.  One time set up and a little refreshing in between and one clean up.  Both girls felt like they had their own party and I felt like I got the best deal by getting them over with in a few short hours.

Swimming is lovely in the heated pool.  The hot tub is nice too.

We had fruit, popcorn and pizza.

Cassidy doesn't like cake so she chose a cheesecake.

Some of the younger girls got creative with their fruit and made faces.

Amberly wanted a BIG cake so I caved and bought one.
Gasp!
I normally make my own but....I was going for easy-breezy so don't judge me.

The girls played volleyball while waiting for everyone to show up.

My sweet girl turning 14!

We even dressed up for the party.

My baby turning 9!

The favorite thing  at the party for both ages was being able to make their own Bali Sandals.  I bought some inexpensive t-shirt material and cut them into strips.  Then you just twist around the toe and lace up the leg.

The Bali sandals were a BIG hit!

Here's to another set of birthday parties over and done and two happy girls♥!

Tom's Birthday Surprise

Tom had his birthday and let me tell you, having a birthday as a Dad the day before school starts can be a bummer but.......we made it special for our favorite guy!

First thing in the morning girls made him a bowling cake while he was at work.  The cake took longer to make than we thought so we met him for a late lunch at his favorite Japanese Restaurant.   We then surprised him with BOWLING!  So fun, we haven't gone bowling as a family for years and we loved being together just the four of us.

We ended Tom's birthday with cake for dinner and two meet the teacher at two different schools plus he had a racquetball game at 8pm and a massage.  It was a perfect day for all of us.  Happy Birthday to the best Husband/Father ever!

Birthday Planning

I'm in Birthday planning mode and...Ward planning mode.
Yep I have 3 weeks to plan a ward party that just got put in my lap.
No worries....I've got it all under control because of my brilliant friend Monica and her previous party planning.
So this week I am planning the girls birthday parties.  Miss Amberly's is nest week and we are going to do this:

Wait till you see the amazing party this girl put on and...gave it all away as a freebie.  I think I am going to have to send her flowers or chocolate as a thank you!  Amberly wanted a Disco Party but after a little persuasion......shhh.......She's very excited for this unbelievable art party!

Just look at this:

Need I say more?

Go check out all the fun stuff we are going to do!  Hopefully after looking at these pictures you won't be disappointed in mine because well....she's a professional and I'm just me.  But gosh darn it -  we are going to have so much fun at this party I can hardly wait!

Now on to plan Cassidy's 12th Birthday Party!  It's gotta be special so I need a few extra days on this one!
Happy Weekend

Tom's Birthday

Man I am behind on this blog!  His birthday was a month ago and I'm just now posting about it.  It's been a crazy summer and this blog took the backseat.

For Christmas I got my dream bike.  You can read about it here.
I love my bike and the girls and I have so much fun riding around the neighborhood we wanted Tom to have a bike and love it too.  Well, when we told him we were buying him a bike for his birthday on the way to the bike shop let's just say he was less than thrilled.  See he has never had a nice bike - ever!  Well guess what?  We changed that!

We had him try out all kinds of bikes until he found the perfect one.  He couldn't be happier.  Plus......he has already signed up for a triathlon so having a bike is pretty important...wouldn't you say?

look at all the fun bikes you can choose from!  This is the same store they bought my bike from.  They even gave us a discount since we bought from them before.

We took it out to my car knowing full well it would fit.  I mean we have always been able to fit anything and everything in my car so there was no doubt.
It was a tight fit.  But it fit!  Both rows of seats had to be put down so the girls got to ride in the back with the bike.  The squeezed in there and laid down because her have instilled the fear of policemen in them and they didn't want to get caught without a seat belt.  Good thing we were close to home!

We went on a family bike ride right when we got home and it was so fun!  Can't wait to have the weather cool down enough so we can go again.  There's something about 112 degrees that makes bike riding not sound like fun.  One more month and we should be good!

Happy Birthday to my sweetie and his new bike!

Good Times

Last night my neighbors and I had our 2nd Annual Birthday Night Out.
Three of the girls have birthdays in July and two of us have them in December.
We stayed for an hour after closing (our poor waiter).
We hooted and hollered.
We ate one of these:
OK we ate three.  We had to have one in every flavor you know.
We told funny stories that made us have to hold her bladders.
We shared recipes and how-to's.
The best part was that we all had so much fun and are so thankful to have the best neighbors!
(even the ones that don't have our same birthdays!)

Abby

Abby is 6

I’m a little late with the birthday posts. The girls birthdays are in Dec. along with everything else, my birthday, our anniversary, Christmas, yadda, yadda, yadda. No excuses – I’m just lame. However, I am redeeming myself and posting these now.

We Love Amberly aka Abby, Happy Abby, Crabby Abby, Miss Abbs. She is so smart and funny and mature beyond her years. She is constantly surprising us with her many talents – teaching herself the piano, cleaning everything for fun & reading chapter books. She says the funniest things (I’m keeping a list for another post) and has the most infectious laugh. She’s a snuggle bunny and still carries her kee-kee’s (3 blankets) around everywhere even though she acts like she's 12 most of the time. She’s a Mama’s girl and we are so blessed to have her as part of our forever family♥

Here is her birthday questions:

What is your favorite color? Pink

What is your favorite food? Marshmallow Matey's - Cereal
What is your favorite TV show? Barbie - Three Musketeers

Who are your best friends? My Sissy, Carlee, Brady, London, Cole, Garrett
What do you love best about school? Recess, projects

What do you want to be when you grow up? A Teacher
What is your favorite thing to do? Play outside

What is your favorite thing to do with your family? Spend time together opening presents on Christmas

What is your favorite book? Any kind of horse books

Amberly Turns 6

amberly's birthday

We had Amberly’s birthday party last month just like last year.

(see last years party here)

This is what I have to remind myself in July when it’s 114 degrees outside. Yes, a swim party with beautiful blue (warm) water, bright colored flowers, warm sunshine, yummy food, giggly girlfriends and bestest boy cousins. What more could you ask for when you are turning 6? We played pool games, did a hula hoop contest, ate lots of food and ran all around, in and out of both pools (one warm one cold) and lot’s of relaxing in the hot tub. Thanks to Grandma for living in such a beautiful place for us to enjoy whenever we want!!!

♥♥Amberly’s real birthday is Dec. 14th but to save my sanity we do the party in November♥♥

London1
My SIL had an amazing girly party for my niece London. There were so many sights to see it was hard to know which way to look! The girls had such a fun time getting their hair and make-up done, mani’s and pedi’s and they even got to pick out an outfit to ROCK the RUNWAY! They were so cute and giggly and sweet. I had so much fun taking the pictures of all the little princesses! I don’t know about you but I think the little girl above had a FABULOUS time!
